Vivienne Westwood started designing when she and Malcolm McLauren opened their first boutique “Let It Rock” reflecting the rocker and biker aesthetics.
In 1981, Westwood staged her very first ready-to-wear collection called “Pirate” with pirate boots as the staple piece.

Over the years, the british designer became known as the “High Priestess” of punk fashion, and her work was language itself (read below).
“Torn fabrics became a metaphor for societal rupture, bold graphics conveyed dissent, and the Do It Yourself (DIY) ethos spoke volumes about individuality.

Westwood’s 1994 collection “On Liberty” was descirbed to be her “exploration of historicism and sexuality.”
Westwood passed on in 2022, but her work lives on!
